Frequently asked questions
Sugaring
The most common questions we get from our clients
Similar to waxing, sugaring removes body hair by quickly pulling the hair from the root. The name for this method comes from the paste itself, which consists of lemon, water, and sugar.
The ingredients are all heated together until it reaches a candy-like consistency. Once it cools it’s applied directly to the skin. This mixture is much more natural and environmentally-friendly than wax, making it a desirable method of hair removal.
Most people argue that sugaring is less painful than traditional waxing. Here at Model Behavior, our sugarists are masters at keeping you preoccupied with conversation, television shows/movies and/or BELLINIS!
When done regularly and consistently, hair will grow in lighter, softer, and thinner!
We suggest that the hair be as long as a grain of rice. Usually at least 10-14 days of growth.
DO NOT SHAVE, EPILATE OR TWEEZE HAIR PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR AT LEAST 10-14 DAYS.
Sugaring works best on exfoliated skin.
Aftercare
Wait at least 24hrs before exfoliating your skin, soaking and/or any exposure to UV rays.
Exfoliate every other day with an exfoliating bikini brush (located in our retail area). Most loofas harbor bacteria and dead skin. A bikini brush is a natural jute brush and is used on dry skin prior to showering and it will safely remove dead skin layers.
Moisturize daily with FUR OIL (multiple options in retail area). It is antimicrobial and anti fungal and offers healing agents that both moisturize and smooth and may prevent any ingrown hairs from forming.
DO NOT TWEEZE, SHAVE, OR EPILATE BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS.
Sugaring is best when done regularly every 4-6 weeks. With repeated and consistent sugarings, hair will grow in lighter, softer, and thinner!
