PIERCING AFTERCARE

Wash your hands before touching or cleaning your piercing. You do not need to rotate or twist your jewelry during healing. Unless you are cleaning your piercing, keep your hands off!

Clean your piercing(s) 3 times a day - 6 weeks for earlobes, 12 weeks for cartilage and nose.

Any jewelry should be checked occasionally (with clean hands) to make sure those earring backs are fastened.

While your piercing is healing, keep jewelry in it at all times. After your piercing is healed you can change your jewelry, but jewelry should never be left out for longer than the time it takes to insert a new piece. If you must remove your jewelry temporarily after healing, such as for work or surgery, there are less visible (and non-metal) alternatives that can be worn for short periods of time.

Normal Healing - Redness, soreness, swelling, oozing clear or white liquid, crusting, peeling, slight bleeding, bump around the piercing site. If you notice a bump forming, use a triple antibiotic after each cleaning for a week.

NOT Normal Healing - A very hot feeling and extreme pain. If you have any of the following symptoms, it's advised that you seek medical attention: Severe redness, pain, pus drainage (pus is typically green/brown, not white or clear), major swelling, abscess formation, fever.
