Sugaring, lash lifts, vajacial – you hear so many terms at our beauty bar, it’s like the SATs all over again. What do all of these beauty bar industry words mean? Learn common beauty bar terminology to sound like a seasoned professional at your next visit!

This process involves one of our technicians applying our coffee-based emulsion solution to your skin with a special airbrush device. This allows for a precise and customized application, resulting in a more natural-looking tan.

Beauty Bar

A one-stop shop for all things beauty. They offer various beauty services, such as sugar waxing, facials, and more, allowing you to get multiple services done in a single place. Some are even amazing enough to teach you beauty bar terminology.

Brazilian Wax

These waxes remove ALL of your hair (yes, even your bum). Say begone to hair on the top and the sides of your bikini line!

Brow Lamination

A perm for your eyebrows! This semi-permanent treatment straightens and sets your hairs upwards to create fuller brows and a more defined arch.

Epilate

To remove hair from the roots. Electronic devices, or epilators, have a head with rotating discs or spring-like mechanisms that pluck hair from the roots. DO NOT tweeze or epilate between sugaring appointments.

Exfoliation

A process that removes dead skin cells from the surface layer of skin. It helps reveal brighter, smoother skin. Sugaring works best on exfoliated skin!

Eyebrow Tint

Your eyebrows are darkened with dye to give them extra definition. It also gives the illusion of thicker, fuller brows. That means less time filling in your eyebrows every morning!

Instant Bronzer

In common beauty bar terminology, this refers to a temporary, water-soluble colorant that gives skin a natural glow.

Lash Lift

Another common beauty bar term, this treatment uses a special solution and a tiny curling rod to lift your eyelashes from base to tip. It lifts and curls your natural lashes like mascara, but unlike mascara, it lasts up to three months!

A hair removal technique that uses a sugar paste to remove hair from the root. It’s applied to the skin against your hair growth and removed in the same direction as growth. Sugar waxing is less damaging than traditional waxing and more comfortable! It also gently exfoliates to give you that dreamy, model skin.

Vajacial

A beauty bar industry word that refers to a facial treatment for “down there.” The area is cleansed with steam, and a mask is applied to exfoliate, detox, and brighten the skin. Then, another mask is used to reduce redness, boost hydration, and leave your skin with a healthy, confident glow. A soothing serum and nourishing balm complete the service. It’s great if you experience ingrown hairs/irritation or want a refresh!
