SPRAY TANNING FAQs

Spray tanning is one of our most popular services, and it’s normal to have questions about preparation, results, and aftercare. Below you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked spray tanning questions. If you need help choosing the right tan or timing your appointment, our team is happy to assist.

Most clients enjoy 7–10 days of smooth, even color with proper aftercare. Hydration, gentle showering, and avoiding harsh products extend the life of your glow.

Classic tans require an 8-hour rinse, while Rapid tans rinse in 2–4 hours (up to 5 hours for the darkest shade). Both develop fully over the next 24 hours—the rinse only controls how long the solution stays on your skin.

Exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment, avoid lotions/oils/deodorant the day of, and arrive with clean, product-free skin. Sugaring or shaving should be done at least 24 hours prior.

For special events, we recommend booking your spray tan 1–3 days in advance. This allows the color to fully develop, settle, and look its most natural. Booking too early can result in fading, while booking too close to the event may not allow enough time for development.

Sweating should be avoided until after your first rinse, as moisture can interfere with how the tan develops and may cause uneven areas. Once you’ve rinsed, light activity is fine, but excessive sweating can shorten the lifespan of your spray tan.

No. We use professional-grade tanning solutions that are customized to your skin tone and desired depth of color. Our approach focuses on natural, even results rather than orange or overly dark tones.

Avoid sweating, tight clothing, hot tubs, long baths, saunas, and soap during your first rinse. Choose gentle, oil-free moisturizers for the next several days to maintain your tan.

Our bronzer is water-soluble, meaning any transfer washes out easily. Wearing dark, loose clothing after your appointment is still recommended.

These premium services include additional prep and finishing steps—like exfoliation, pH balancing, shimmer-setting powder, and sculpted application—that enhance longevity, evenness, and overall appearance.

Spray tanning is generally safe for most skin types. If you have sensitive skin, allergies, or are pregnant, we recommend letting us know ahead of time so we can discuss your options and ensure your comfort during the appointment.

Yes. Your spray tan can be adjusted based on your skin tone, preferences, and event timing. Let your technician know if you’re looking for a subtle glow or a deeper bronze, and we’ll tailor the application accordingly.

Loose, dark clothing is recommended both to and from your appointment. Avoid tight-fitting garments, bras, leggings, socks, or shoes that may rub against the skin. Sandals and breathable fabrics help protect your tan as it develops.
